Diosa Verde
Natural stone is timeless, durable, and full of character. With proper care and regular maintenance, it can maintain its beauty for a lifetime. Because natural stone is naturally porous, we recommend sealing it before and after installation to help protect against moisture, stains, and grout haze. Unlike porcelain tile, natural stone requires specialized care to preserve its appearance.
Everyday Care
To keep your natural stone looking its best:
Sweep, dust mop, or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and grit that can scratch the surface. Place mats at entrances to reduce debris and protect flooring. Use coasters under drinks and trivets beneath hot cookware. Wipe up spills immediately by blotting rather than rubbing.
Cleaning
Clean surfaces with a pH-neutral stone cleaner, stone soap, or a mild dishwashing liquid mixed with warm water. Use a soft cloth or microfiber mop, rinse thoroughly, and dry the surface to prevent streaks or water spots.
For bathrooms, use a squeegee after each use to reduce soap scum. Outdoor stone can be rinsed with clean water, and a mild bleach solution may be used occasionally to remove algae or moss.
We recommend using Stonetech’s Stone and Tile Cleaner. The daily, pH neutral cleaner, formulated to remove tough everyday spills, dirt and grease on natural stone, tile, masonry and grout<.
Avoid
To protect your natural stone, avoid using: Vinegar, lemon, or acidic cleaners, Abrasive powders or scouring pads and Products containing hydrofluoric acid (HF)
Never mix bleach and ammonia, as this creates toxic fumes.
Sealing
A quality impregnating sealer helps reduce liquid absorption and improves stain resistance, but it does not make the stone stain-proof. Follow the sealer manufacturer’s recommendations for application and maintenance.
We recommend using Stonetech’s Bulletproof Sealer, premium, water-based penetrating sealer, designed to provide maximum protection against the toughest water and oil-based stains on the most porous natural stone, tile, masonry and grout surfaces.
Stain Removal
Treat stains as soon as possible using the appropriate cleaner:
- Oil-based stains: Mild detergent, mineral spirits, or acetone.
- Organic stains: Hydrogen peroxide (for light-colored stone).
- Metal stains: May require professional treatment.
- Biological stains: Diluted bleach or hydrogen peroxide solution.
- Ink and paint: Use cleaners appropriate for the stone type and stain.
We recommend using Stonetech’s KlenzAll Cleaner, a heavy-duty, water-based acidic cleaner designed to remove hard water deposits, efflorescence, rust, dirt, soap scum, and light grout haze.
