Extruded terracotta with a rustic surface has long been celebrated for its exquisite brushed finish, a hallmark of craftsmanship that has endured for decades. This category encompasses a diverse array of products that have played a significant role in disseminating the rich image of Tuscan tradition across the globe. The characteristic roughness of this terracotta is artfully achieved by meticulously working the surface with steel brushes prior to the firing process, resulting in a texture that is both visually striking and tactilely engaging. The careful attention to detail in its creation reflects a deep appreciation for artisanal techniques, ensuring that each piece embodies the timeless beauty and authenticity of Tuscany’s heritage.

Terracotta is a natural material that does not emit toxic substances. In addition, terracotta is a durable material that lasts over time as long as it is properly maintained.

Routine Cleaning
Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dust, dirt, and debris that can wear the surface over time.
Clean with a damp mop or soft cloth using warm water mixed with a pH-neutral cleaner or a mild soap, such as Marseille soap.
For occasional deep cleaning, warm water with a small amount of white vinegar may be used if recommended for your specific finish and sealer.
Wash the floor a second time when needed to remove stubborn dirt or residue.
Dry the surface immediately with a soft microfiber cloth to prevent water marks.

Maintenance
For ordinary domestic cleaning, simply use a cloth dampened with water and Marbec Flora, or other normal ammoniac-free detergent. Approximately once every two years, we suggest to spread Marbec Idrofin Matt or Filamatt (or any other similar preserving agent) over the floor by using a cloth or a mop; for Machine-made finishes we do recommend to use it diluted (50% Marbec Idrofin Matt and 50% water) whereas for hand made finish we do recommend to use it pure.
